Feelings are like waves. You can never stop them from coming but you can decide which ones to surf.
Emotions are the side effects of our body's natural defense against any kind of action taken by anyone towards our apparent mental habitat. We build magical walls to hold unwanted and immoral emotions, hopefully to prevent them from intoxicating ourselves from within.
We are all cursed blessed with emotions. Eight basic emotions to be exact. Ecstasy. Admiration. Terror. Amazement. Grief. Loathing. Rage. Vigilance. One should be blessed to have a tongue to help them comprehend their feelings. These feelings are divergent and exciting; but, none of these describe what I'm feeling now.
I'm actually feeling pretty empty. It's not the emptiness in your favourite cup of tea. It's not the emptiness that you see in the vast ocean. It's the emptiness you can't explain. Sometimes, you just sit there and wonder why you're feeling this way. But it's not really feeling when you are actually on oblivion. You sense nothing and not anything at all. And that is even worse than feeling bad, sad or even shattered. It is so much better to feel.
Maybe, we are really blessed with feelings after all.
We need emotions - and I really feel emptiness should be the ninth basic emotion. We feel it, yet we don't know what it is. Sounds like love, doesn't it? Emotions of all kinds are good and should never be held behind the magical walls we all have erected in ourselves. Emotions are like energy, there are ever-present and never destroyed. Unexpressed emotions will never evaporate off your souls. They'll bury themselves deep within, grow roots onto your heart and crush it slowly as time elapses. They will emerge someday to greet you in unimaginable ways.
Pour your emotions out. Be it passion, sadness or love. Row your boat.
